I think than now you are pretty tied of walking, so that is time to find some lovely cafe or restaurant. But do you now how much food and eating behaviors in France are different from Americans? I’ll tell you something about it.



French cuisine is really diverse. There are gastronomic restaurants, fast-food restaurants, regional cuisine, bistros, rural taverns, tea salons…

French breakfast consist of coffee, tea or cacao and croissants, or bred with butter and jam. Each eating in France is like an art, and even breakfast is an essential part of the day. Frenchmen usually have breakfast at 7 or 9 o’clock, lunch at 12 and supper at 8 p.m.

If you go to the restaurant, you should dress up. You can’t have a picnic on the grass near the restaurant if it doesn’t mention. After you enter the restaurant you should wait for a metr-d’oterl who would guide you to the table and bring the menu. Call him after you’ll decide. After you’ll finish your meal you should call for him and ask for the score.

Usually restaurants are close at 11 p.m. Big cafes are closed at 12 p.m. except of that ones that are near the railroad stations. If you want to eat after midnight you should go to the busy blocks. In a big cities small cafes in a center are open all night long.



Clothers.



Well, now you are satisfied so it is time to go… shopping! French is famous for its fashion clothing stores.

First I’ll tell you a little bit of history of the most popular clothiers and then where you can find this clothes.

In 1928 the skirt had hardly covered the knees. Gabriel Chanel had found the fashion in the English style.

Koko Chanel created lots of clothes that look completely natural for us nowadays: a purse through a shoulder, metal jewellery, chains.

Historical events have a great influence on a fashion. During World War II pants became every-day clothes for the women who replaced men on work in rear, while before women didn’t were pants.

The first bikini appeared in 1946.

In 1948 "new style" of Dior had accepted not only all Europe, but also America.

The fashion of 50th years was created not by one Dior.

50-s' is a time of the maximum meridian and glory of Parisian "from couture".

In 1962 House Yves Saint Laurent has been created.

Each of the decade, 60-70-80-90-years, offered new design finds, style was changing from neo-romantic, up to minimalist.

Paris is the capital of haute couture. Kuture’s shops are located on right of Seny river between Fobur Sent-Onore Street. On the Montaign Avenue the shops of Ermes and Guchi are situated. On Madeleine's Square, in Sen-Sulpis and Sevr-Babylon blocks you can find Versache and Sonja Rikel’s shops.

Other distinctive features of Paris are secondhand booksellers, which are situated along Seny’s quay. Ancient books, second-hand things, comics, cards - everything this you can find there. There are a lot of large department stores: Prentam, Galeri Lafait, Bon-Marshe, Samariten or BHV. They offer any goods of various marks. There you can also find the perfume.



Perfume.



Every day in the heart of the world fashionable industry more than 172 thousand small bottles of perfume are sold. Every day new style of perfume is created and started to produce. And that means, that France delivers more than 365 new titles on the world perfumery market every year!

It is interesting that producing of perfumes had blossomed in the French kingdom more than four hundred years ago, as reaction...On the bad smells, which were pursued citizens. Not a secret, that not long ago the Frenchmen weed directly on the streets, and all other waste products were thrown out.

And the king also preferred to not trouble himself with so unpleasant procedure like washing in a bath, but he used the special aromatic preparations that were delivered by king’s perfumeries.



However, we shall let alone the history and address for today.

What perfume do the modern Frenchmen prefer?
